Driver: Hi.
Officer: Good afternoon, sir. I pulled you over because your tag light wasn’t working. How much have you had to drink today?
Driver: Just a couple beers, but it was three or four hours ago.
Officer: What about drugs?
Driver: I don’t do drugs.
Officer: Do you take any prescription medication?
Driver: Just a Xanax, but it was before I went to bed last night, and it’s prescribed to me.
Attorney Jason Edge: Okay, Mr. Brock, well here’s what your police report says. The officer writes that you admitted to drinking multiple beers, and that you admitted to mixing those beers with prescription narcotics just hours before the arrest.
Driver: That’s taken completely out of context, that’s not what I said.
Jason: I believe you, but that’s why we don’t talk to the police.
