Two. You have two separate cases once your arrested for a DUI. The first case starts because the officer took your driver’s license at the time he arrested you. I’ve only got 30 days from that date to request a hearing to have any opportunity of saving your driver’s license. The second case is the DUI itself, the criminal case, which will work its way through the courts.
You need to understand these are separate, distinct cases, happening at different places, at different times, with different sets of rules attached to them. That’s why you need a competent, prepared attorney to protect you.
